Wheeled Excavators:
M312 (S/N: 6TL1143-UP)
M315 (S/N: 7ML1940-UP)
M318 (S/N: 8AL2579-UP; 6ES244-UP; 8SS487-UP)
M320 (S/N: 6WL584-UP; 9PS311-UP)

Description of Change: The reverse steering indicator is removed from the above listed models. This function is not required. There are no requirements for a light that indicates the position of the upper frame relative to the undercarriage frame. The center cap cover replaces the blue light cover of the steering wheel.

Adaptable To: The 194-6535 Cover (Center Cap) replaces the 164-8366 Cover (Blue Light). The associated electrical components have been changed or removed from the machine. This eliminates the functioning of the reverse steering indicator. These changes are adaptable to the machines that are listed in Table 1.

The following tables and illustrations refer to the removal of reverse steering indicator.

  • Refer to Table 1 for the machine adaptability.

  • Refer to Table 2 and refer to Illustration 1 for the changes that affect the platform wiring group.

  • Refer to Table 3 and refer to Illustration 2 for the changes that affect the steering group.

  • Refer to Table 4 and refer to Illustration 3 for the changes that affect the adjustable steering column group.

  • Refer to Table 5 and refer to Illustration 4 for the changes that affect the undercarriage frame assembly.

  • Refer to Table 6 and refer to Illustration 5 for the changes that affect the battery and wiring group.

  • Refer to Table 7 for the changes that affect the junction box.

Note: The part numbers for the harness assemblies remain as the original part numbers. The harness assemblies are being assembled at a higher change level. The former change level of the harness assemblies are serviced by the new change level of the harness assemblies.
