Excavator:
330B (S/N: 8SR1-UP)
330B L (S/N: 3YR1-UP; 6DR1-UP; 8TR1-UP; 4RS1-UP; 5LS1-UP)
330B LN (S/N: 5LR1-UP)

Description of Change: The material and the heat treat process of the coupling gear in the final drive is improved. The surface hardness of the coupling gear is increased. The increased surface hardness prevents the coupling gear from deforming under the bolt heads. The bolts assemble the gear to the final drive.

The bolts can become loose if the gear deforms under the bolt heads. The loose bolts decrease the integrity of the bolted joint. Failure of the bolted joint may cause extensive repair to the final drive. The new gear will prevent the deformation that is created by the bolts.

Adaptable To: The new 204-3654 Gear is used in place of the former 110-7227 Gear Coupling. The new gear is effective with 330B L S/N:6DR5179-UP
. The new gear is adaptable to 330B L S/N:6DR1-5178
.

The new gear is a component in the final drives that are listed in Table 1. The location of the new gear is shown in Illustration 1.
