A change has been made to Service Magazine, SEPD0768, 24, January 2005, "A Correction to Spacers for Installing Tire Chains on the Rear Wheels of Backhoe Loaders Are Now Available". The effectivity has changed.

Reference: For the correct procedure of removing and installing the rear tires and wheels, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim (Rear) - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.

Spacers are now available to enable tire chains to be installed on Backhoe Loaders. The Spacer will provide the clearance between the rear tires and the fenders to install the tire chains.

Procedure to Install the 173-3852 Spacer

Note: The spacer is for Backhoe Loaders with 19.5L x 24 or smaller tires.
