Description of Change: The quality of the 1R-6226 Pin As is improved on the smaller Excavators. The manufacturing process for the pin has been improved. The improvements increase the strength and surface hardness of the pin. The part number on the improved pin has not changed.

Adaptable To: The improved pin can be identified by the manufacturing date code or the identification marks that are stamped into the side of the pin.

Identification mark

The identification mark is located on the side of the pin tip. See Graphic 3. The marks 1 to 3 of the identification mark identify the grinding machine. This stamp will confirm the part has been measured.
Note: No mark shows not improved parts.

The manufacturing data code

The Code 1004 means that the part was built after April 2010 which means after the improvement was made. See Graphic 4
- The first two digits are the year of manufacture: 10XX
- The last two digits are the month of manufacture: 01 to 12

Refer to Table 2 for the effectivity and adaptability of the improved pin assembly.

Note: The serial numbers are for reference. The effective machines must be identified by the stamp on the pin assembly.
